Quake

Feel it, I think my house was right on top of the fault.  Doug and I actually googled it, and according to Google earth, it was on E St, in San Bernardino.  Humm let me see, I got up so fast, pulled the keyboard onto the floor and I was holding onto the molding in the doorway.  Doug is ALWAYS too calm, he picked up my keyboard, then ran over to where I was because I FREAK OUT!  Anyway, now I am still downstairs, awake, and afraid to go upstairs.  I am such a weeny!

Hope your mom is better, call me whenever you get a chance.

Love ya, D

Do share. I am the google queen. How did you get the exact location as E Street.  I live on that earthquake website and actually use it in one of my Internet lessons in my classroom.  Would love to know how to find the exact location down to the street!!!  Call me a geek!

Edit:  I found it! Had to install Google Earth on the computer I was using and clicked the lKML ink from the earthquake website.  Love how it showed the exact epicenter!!!  Thanks for sharing!

Here is the website that I go too as soon as I collect my wits after quakes.  If you click on the large blue area near San Bernardino, you will be taken to all of the most recent quakes in So Cal.  When you scrool down to the bottom of the page and get all the quakes, at the bottom of it, you will see where it will give you a link to google earth quakes.  I think it's the first one, there are lots on the bottom of the page.  Keep this link in your favorite.  It takes about 3-4 minutes for them to post the quake, but it is very accurate!

Glad we are all ok, I keep checking the house for cracks, I think the only one cracked is me!

Hugs, Diane

Speaking of earthquakes, don't forget to pack some protein in your emergency preparation kits!  Thought about this last night during our earthquake.  I actually borrowed  my emergency rations of protein out of our travel trailer last week when I ran low and forgot to put some back in there when my shipment came. Guess it was a good reminder as I jumped right up and put an entire container in there.  Last thing I want in a disaster is to not have appropriate foods to eat and start having health issues. Plus the entire family could live off of protein drinks if needed.

Happy Shaking and Baking (temps here will be about 72!) Cali!  Kim in Apple Valley

Our dogs were both sound alseep and both jumped up right before the rumbling began. The noise came first then the shaking.
